Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve
Just north of Morgan Hill, find Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve, a protected park operated by the Open Space Authority. This park features a 4-mile loop trail and offers amazing wildlife viewing opportunities. The trail is avaialble to mountain bikers, equestrians, hikers, walkers, and runners.
Enjoy a few hours of recreation and adventure and look for deer, coyotes, a variety of birds, and even tarantulas during the fall season. This is a great outdoor escape and easily accessible while on a Morgan Hill vacation or road trip.
Coyote Valley is a unique ecological area, offering the closest point between the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Diablo Range. This narrow valley offers a crossing supporting the biodiversity of several species of wildlife like bobcats, mountain lions, foxes, and more.
