Position: Sports Recreation Seat
Term: Through the end of February 2026
Qualifications: Visit Morgan Hill (VMH) is seeking an enthusiastic and engaged member to serve on the Board of Directors, representing the sports and recreation tourism interest in Morgan Hill. Candidates should currently serve the local industry in an ownership or leadership capacity, and have experience with local and/or regional sports and recreation programs. The elected board member will familiarize with VMH’s Strategic Plan and collaboratively guide the organization’s work to develop overnight tourism, with perspective and insight on capitalizing on sports and recreational market opportunities.
About The Board: The VMH Board is also known as the Owner's Association of the Morgan Hill Tourism Business Improvement District (MHTBID). The Owner's Association acts as a legislative body under the Ralph M. Brown Act and is made up of nine (9) volunteer Directors with seats representing Hotels (4), City (2) , Wineries (1), Sports & Recreation (1), and the Community-At-Large (1). The Board meets on the 4th Monday of every other month at 11 am, and occasional special meetings. Meetings are hybrid, with both in-person and remote log in available, with adherence to Brown Act for limited remote attendance. VMH is a private 501(c)6 entity and operates independently from the City of Morgan Hill. Board seats are appointed within 2 year terms, unless otherwise indicated.
