Summer of Flavor, Music, and Art

A Summer of Flavor, Music, and Art

There’s something undeniably memorable about summer in Morgan Hill, and it all comes to life on the Fourth of July. Flags wave along the Monterey Road parade route, fireworks light up the sky, and the streets fill with energy.

As we celebrate Independence Day, we also celebrate the season itself. Long golden evenings, the rhythm of live music, and the aroma of good food drifting through downtown. It’s a time to slow down and enjoy what’s happening around us.

Visit Morgan Hill is sharing a summer lineup that’s down to earth, full of flavor, and distinctly local. Think sushi paired with local wines, gallery workshops, orchard visits, and outdoor concerts that bring people together.

Our summer got off to a great start with the Downtown Summer Kickoff and Twilight Vendor Marketplace on June 19. Families and fans turned out to meet the Bay Area Panthers, currently the IFL’s top seed, who rolled out the green carpet for us—or rather, the green turf.

Coming up, Sushi Confidential’s Sip & Sushi dinner series returns July 16. It’s a one-of-a-kind, multi-course omakase experience that pairs custom sushi dishes with wines specially selected by local winemakers. It really is a must-try.

On August 2, Terra Amico Farms hosts its next farm-to-table dinner, where the ingredients are grown just steps from your seat.

Andy’s Orchard tastings and tours (July 6 & 12, August 2 & 17) offer visitors a chance to sample rare stone fruit varieties in a setting that’s pure Morgan Hill.

Every Saturday morning, the Downtown Farmers Market brings fresh produce, flowers, and ripe summer strawberries that taste as good as they look. Plan a little extra time every second Saturday for artisan vendors and live music on downtown’s E. Third Street.

The Friday Night Music Series keeps the summer vibes going with free outdoor concerts through late August. There’s also music at wineries along the Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail, including the Vines & Vibes summer series at Guglielmo Winery, making every Wednesday a mini party.

Meanwhile, sports tournament season is in full swing. Major events at the Morgan Hill Outdoor Sports Center and Aquatics Center are drawing athletes and families from across the region.

Downtown continues to delight. Hiram and Diana, a new boutique offering timeless home goods and thoughtful gifts, recently opened its doors. Just a few blocks away, the Granary District is marking its 20th anniversary with a monthly event series honoring its creative roots and growth. Luxe Flower Bar is blossoming at the corner of First and Monterey with coffee, pastries, French wines, and a stem bar.

Morgan Hill’s arts scene is energized, too. A new photographic exhibit by Shellee Fisher, dubbed “Flowers,” is on view at the Community and Cultural Center until July 10. Cura Contemporary and Colibri Gallery offer an array of summer workshops and programs. Take a peek at their calendars for yoga in the gallery, an art walk, a watercolor brunch, and more.

The Hampton Inn Morgan Hill also recently completed a stylish renovation, giving visitors a fresh and convenient place to stay near downtown and the wine trail.

These events and happenings aren’t just for visitors. They reflect the energy and evolution of Morgan Hill. Every concert, tasting, workshop, and tournament adds to the story we’re telling about this place.

As we enjoy the Fourth of July and look ahead to the rest of the season, I hope you’ll join in. Whether it’s swinging by a new event, supporting a local business, or directing someone to VisitMorganHill.org, we all play a part in showing off what makes Morgan Hill worth the trip.
