Oaks and Open Space!
A guided hike all about the oak woodlands and creekside habitat at Rancho Cañada del Oro
Join us for a leisurely introductory hike on the 0.5-mile paved Llagas Loop Trail around a meadow, then to the 0.5-mile dirt trails along the creek. Learn about oak woodlands, creek habitat, and the history of these open spaces. We will begin with a mindfulness meditation in nature and an introduction of the Seek app for identifying plants and the Merlin app for identifying birds on your phones. Download these free apps before the event!
The first trail is paved and ADA compliant: good for strollers, walkers, wheelchairs, and those needing level ground to walk and explore. The second half of this event is on level dirt trails: great for small children, off-road strollers and wheelchairs, and those who enjoy gentle, short trails. All levels and abilities are welcome to attend!
Please meet in the OVERFLOW parking lot past the main parking area.
